Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community
Matthew Johnson is an Audio Producer and Visual Artist originally from St. Louis. He received a BFA in Painting from KCAI in 2017. Working in a variety of mediums, he explores epistemology and its many analogs. Matthew creates large, detail oriented installations by mixing found materials, sound, and handmade objects into diagrams that can take over entire spaces. These structures made of disparate objects are a way to delve into different topics like circular logic, city sprawl, intersectionality, and positive feedback loops.
