Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community
Charlotte Street Foundation currently operates the artist residency studios in repurposed corporate offices in the Town Pavilion. The 38 story building is located in Kansas City, Missouri’s downtown financial district near the Power and Light District.
Visual artist studios range from private “office” spaces to dedicated areas within larger, open shared spaces.
Performing artist studios include a rehearsal space with dance stage and Marley floor for dancers/choreographers and a separate black box rehearsal room for music and theatre artists. There are a limited amount of small private studios for composers.
Writer studios are private “offices” or semi-private studios with Wi-Fi access.
Studios are accessible to artists 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the one year term.
The Town Pavilion studios are work spaces only; the program does not provide residential accommodations.
The studios are not furnished and do not include access to specialized equipment/workshop, kilns, etc. The 6th floor does have access to a large freight elevator/ loading dock.
