Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community
Melina Neet is a poet, playwright, writer, and blogger. She has her BA in Theater from Central Missouri State. She has put on several of her plays, including the inventive play SATELLITE. She was also the 2013 recipient of the Inspiration Grant.
Neet writes: “My own works focus on characters anxious to free themselves from illogical or untenable restraints. Sorrow and survival are intertwined in the characters I write about, and their only armor is language, memory and a perverse humor. Anxiety and emotional detachment underlie their actions, but their real motivation is to find what will make them happy.”
