Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community
Paige Hinshaw is a visual artist working with a range of materials. She earned her BFA in printmaking from Rhode Island school of design in 2012. She has worked with themes of gender, feminism, and American culture. Hinshaw has co-curated an exhibition in the So What Space in Brooklyn, NY and exhibited in New York, Rhode Island, and Kansas City.
Hinshaw writes: “I’ve watched my sculptures begin to blur more and more between hand crafted objects and manufactured products. I have decided to pause and investigate what it is about these manufactured products I find so engaging that they have consumed my work. I have become captivated by the contemporary ambiguity between art and commodity, and the overwhelming hold the latter has on our society as a whole.”
