Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community
Laurena Roytberg is a Kansas City, Missouri based artist. In her studio, she focuses on exploring how to filter her knowledge of the grid, the feedback loop, and the human perception of optical information through the methods of quilt making. These concepts become illustrated through visual pathways imbedded into the quilt that expose themselves over time. She is working towards creating a quilted environment, an internal landscape, that can push, play and pull at the reader through their viewing experience. Meshing the concepts of real place in real space into new place.
