Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community
Monica Dixon navigates a fluctuating space between art and design, meticulousness and ease, formalism and conceptualism. Her current focus explores potential applications of a foam-like material composed of mycelium and agricultural waste. Using this and other materials, she plans to create a series of props used for ritual movement practices. Dixon graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2011 with a BFA in Painting. She returned to Kansas City in summer 2015 from Brooklyn, New York.
