Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community
I am very excited to announce the debut of our performance We are the Landscape at the Arts Asylum, Dec. 9, 10, 11, 2016. We have been working on this the whole first year of the residency, and it is finally being born! Along with my original music, there are songs of protest, of ritual, of indigenous resiliance from the Americas. I am proud of the team, including fellow residents Neil Goss, who is weaving an incredible poncho for a dance by Cat Mahari (who will be wearing the formidable Bolivian platform shoes with spurs that I made) while Pedro Calderon from Peru and I play gigantic pan flutes in the back… Other performers include Andres Ramirez (Mexico), Maura Garcia (Cherokee/Matamuskeet), Dario Rugerio (Mexico), Arelis Flores (Mexico), Erika Noguera (Guatemala), Amory Botorff (KC) and Karen Lisondra (Kansas/Philippines). ***If we sell out, 10% of proceeds will be donated to Standing Rock to help our relatives in the north. So please support this cause and be part of the landscape this December!
Abrazos, my brothers and sisters.
