Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community
This Saturday, June 20, Charlotte Street writer-in-residence Lucas Wetzel is hosting a Midsummer Daydream Type-in at Paragraph Gallery (23 E. 12th St. between Main and Walnut Streets). Drop by any time between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to take part in an anonymous yet intimate city-wide conversation about matters of personal and civic importance, using archaic machinery, imagination, heart, soul, vision, etc. Excerpts from these writings will be included in a booklet to be published later this summer. Typewriters and talking points provided.
Tamales, soda pop, iced tea and cupcakes will also be served to the first 20 or so guests. For questions, message lucashwetzel at gmail dot com.
This event is part of the “Displacement/Thisplacemeant” exhibit curated by Israel Garcia and featuring works by Charlotte Street Foundation studio residents Adriane Herman, Rena Detrixhe, Fredy Gabuardy, Gillian Tobin, Cristina Muñiz and Melanie Johnson, on display at Paragraph through July 11.
