Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community
After months of preparation and planning, myself and fellow artist, Eli Gold, will carry out a 5 day performance and installation within Charlotte Street’s La Esquina Gallery. Together, over the course of a typical 40-hour work week, we will produce an edition of 150 concrete blocks and 150 cotton pillows, keeping meticulous record of our production. Stop by any time during the performance to catch us at work and track our progress, coffee will be on hand!
-Rena Detrixhe, 2014-2015 Charlotte Street Foundation Studio Resident

A closing reception, panel discussion, and sale of the objects will take place on Friday, February 20th from 6-9PM; the artists will be joined by KU Art History Professor, David Cateforis, and Salina based artist, Priti Cox to discuss the work.
