Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community
Cat Mahari (performing artist in residence 2014/15) premiere’s her FIRST FULL-LENGTH work “the floor”, an immersive theatre project intrigued with repetition as a critical component of transformation in love, partnership, and individual experience by weaving connected archetypes, motifs, and partnered movement from Latin, African, and European folklore and urban traditions in music, culture, and imagery.
Taking the idea of a party held in late night joints and bars, the floor draws on traditional influences for contemporary revelation!
