Charlotte Street Foundation identifies the needs and fuels the evolution of an ever-changing multidisciplinary arts ecosystem, acting as its primary provocateur. We cultivate the contemporary, the exceptional, and the unexpected in the practice of artists working in and engaging with the Kansas City Art Community

Kent Szlauderbach

“The privilege to call myself a writer is only as meaningful as the service I can provide as one. Before I am a writer in the vague, artistic sense of the word, I am a tutor, teacher, counselor, journalist, and gallery director. Only through this work have I learned that the purpose of my discipline is not simply to write graphically, but to listen, collaborate, and lend a voice to muted human desires, experiences, and pathologies. Only through service can I practice the art of writing fiction, the cultivating act of oral and aural storytelling that predates the modern screen.”
